Highschool students, apprentices, and industry professionals joined us for the annual Territorial Skills competition – which was hosted at Porter Creek Secondary School, FH Collins Secondary School, Yukon University, Duncan’s LTD, and virtually. It was held in April, with events on April 10th, 13th and 21st. Post-secondary winners will be competing for Team Yukon in Vancouver at the National Skills Competition, and secondary level winners participating virtually.
Our 2021 Skills competition was held in various locations around Whitehorse, and competitors who qualified were able to compete in the Skills Canada Virtual National Competition.
The 2020 Territorial Skills Competition was not held due to COVID 19
Hosted at the Canada Games Centre and Yukon University, Skills Canada Yukon was pleased to welcome over 1000+ visitors to try out different trades with the support of local industry members and witness the competitors showcase their skills and talents!
During the 2018 Territorial Skills Competition, secondary and post secondary student competed in various competitions in numerous locations including Whitehorse, Dawson City, Yukon University & Carmacks.
2017 was a fun year filled with smiles & enthusiasm for the trades & technology sectors! Students competed in numerous competitions including Welding, Robotics, 2D Animation, Hairstyling, & Workplace Safety. This event was open to the public, hosted at both Yukon University (former Yukon College) & the Canada Games Centre, Whitehorse.
