These tours take place at local businesses where participants can witness firsthand the work that goes into various trades. Youth will have the chance to observe, ask questions, and learn about the various tools and equipment used in each trade.Examples: Yukon University trades classes tour, printing shop, mechanics shop, culinary school or restaurant, etc

This activity is related to the technology career of electronics.
Wanting to challenge your youth's creativity and teamwork? Spaghetti Engineers will have your class dive into a constructive design process, apply problem solving skills, and put their stable structures to the test.
A pipe fitting/plumbing based activity with a goal to successfully make a marble (or water) flow from the top of the unconstructed prototype to the bottom. Along the way students in groups of two will be faced with random challenges! Students will consistently use numeracy, problem solving, and collaboration skills to change the degree of speed and direction for water/marble to escape through to the bottom catcher.

Your students will have the opportunity to learn an Indigenous Skill and add in their own creative process! These kits are suitable for classrooms grade 6 and up.
Cardboard races are a fun and exciting way to encourage leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills with your class or community group! Teams are provided with cardboard, duct tape, and utility knives to craft a toboggan and must work together to construct the strongest product. Winter availability only.
